Despite her small town, Mpumalangan roots, Lizel has always been one to think big, and think ahead. After obtaining her B.Proc degree from the University of Pretoria in 2000, and her LLB from the University of Stellenbosch two years later, she realised her long-term dream of building a career in the beauty of Cape Town.

Putting others' needs ahead of her own, she made the decision to complete her articles at the Legal Aid Clinic in Stellenbosch, and then followed this with a full-time position as an admitted attorney at the Legal Aid Board. She is an admitted conveyancer in the Cape of Good Hope Provincial Division and has gained the right to appear in the High Court.

In 2005 Lizel and Jaco founded Jardim Bekker Attorneys.

Years later, Lizel took a short hiatus - resigning as director to flex her entrepreneurial muscles by building a wellness business. She returned to the business in 2021 as a consulting attorney, specialising in property matters.

One of the most personably professional people you will ever meet, Lizel prioritises regular, honest information-sharing, keeping her clients firmly in the loop. The repeat business the firm experiences from loyal clients is a testament to both this approach, and her attention to detail.

She is a massive animal lover and has two chocolate Labradors (her 'kids'). She keeps "her mind fresh by keeping her body fit" with weight training, cycling and a healthy lifestyle, ensuring she'll be helping others as she improves herself far into the future.
